    Rantaro’s head swivels. Angie is sitting just a few feet away from Rantaro, facing away. Even turned in the wrong direction, Rantaro can see that she is breathing, her back rising and falling with each even breath. It hadn’t been uncommon for Rantaro to find Angie meditating like she seems to be doing now, and it’s always seemed rude to interrupt someone so tranquil, but—Rantaro has so many questions. What is this place? How did he get here? What’s with the statues? What’s happened to the killing ga—

    The killing game. A renewed sense of urgency grips Rantaro and he shuffles over on his knees. “Hey, Angie-san—” His hand extends to take her by the shoulder, but just as his fingertips brush her back, Angie turns around and beams at him.

    “Oh, the ritual was a success!” Angie exclaims.

    Rantaro blinks. “The ritual?”

    Angie enters a different room for her candle and as a result, Rantaro comes back to life. The game doesn't just stop there, though.
