“I didn’t hear that from her. How do you know she’s going?” The question left her before she could stop it, sharper than she intended.
Feng Xin raised an eyebrow. “Hey, calm down, you stink.”
Xie Lian blinked, momentarily thrown, before realization dawned. Embarrassment crept up her neck. Omega pheromones. She hadn’t even noticed her scent changing, but Feng Xin, an alpha, was clearly affected—his expression tightening as he rubbed his temple, looking slightly dizzy.
“Sorry…” She cleared her throat and quickly pulled out her phone, searching for Hua Cheng’s contact.
‘Hello, San Niang. It's been a while :) I heard you were going to the Shi brothers' party.’
She hit send before she could overthink it, then set her phone down on the table.

Summary
The meeting was supposed to be nothing but an empty formality. A sort of prelude and introductory event before the art exhibition the very next week. All Hua Cheng had to do was nod, agree to their conditions, and let Yin Yu read over the fine print and deal with anything else.
She had been over this tens of times, and all she wanted to do in the moment was go back home to her wife's embrace and soft smile as soon as this was over.
Instead, she found herself sitting in a squeaky chair, squinting at an iPad the "creative director" of the gallery had slid over in disbelief.
Or: Hua Cheng finds that some of her arts of Xie Lian have been "enhanced" for an art exhibition. Safe to say, she is not happy with the development. Cue an emotional hurt/comfort with domestic hualesbians.
