Summary
Eren was lucky, according to most people. He had found his soulmate at a young age and had the privilege of living out his life with them. Eren didn't see himself as lucky per se. He had a rebellious view of soulmates, an unpopular opinion of how they were nothing more than a biological restraint, much like his Omega dynamic.
Eren's coming of age story takes a sharp left turn when the city breaks out in chaos. A virus is spreading, and it's spreading fast. A vast majority of the population is wiped out in months. This has just become a battle of survival, angsty teen hormones and untimely romance.

His words were not slurred, the alcohol long gone from his system. Levi was sober, and Eren was grateful, because it was so much worse when he was drunk. He never tried to touch Eren, or hold him, or kiss him. But sometimes he cried, and it made Eren ache in a place he didn’t feel much anymore. It was nostalgic in the worst way, and he was glad for Levi’s sobriety today.
“You’ve gotta stop coming here. It’s cruel, to me and Jean both. To yourself, too.”
“I just need to hear it today. One more time. Please.”

It works pretty well until it doesn't.

Even though he knew he only had a small amount of time left before he would never see them again, he never left his room. With his face buried into his pillow, he blocked out the rest of the world. They didn’t even bother come to comfort him, everyone knew there was no point, Eren was going to the Omegan Breeding Association.

Summary
Shortly after winning the war against titans, Hanji recieves an order to execute both Eren and Armin. While Levi appeals the ruling before the government--and sacrifices just about everything in the process--Hanji scrambles for a cure. She finds one, but the side effects are less than desirable, at least in Eren's case.
When a freshly demoted Levi is the only option left to look after an incredibly angry, incapable Eren who's body is betraying him in more ways than one, old, repressed emtions begin to make themselves known. Suddenly, neither of them can hide from what happened nine years prior and perhaps the only key to them coexisting is to confront it and clear the air between them. Unfortunately, they're going to have to stop fighting and being stubborn first.
