Once a mage in the Ostwick circle, Evelyn is now the Inquisitor. Her brother Aidan changed his name so that he could join as a Templar at the same circle and continue to protect his sister. Separated by the war between mages and Templars, the Inquisitor thinks she may never see him again. Follows the Inquisition story line, will become a slight AU as the chapters progress. Summary
A few years before the mage rebellion the Chantry issued a new mandate. Any apostate captured by the Templars would be subjected to one of three sentences: Death, Tranquility, or Claiming. If Claimed, a mage is forever tied to the Templar, forced to his will and whims, becoming little more than chattel. This is the tale of Cullen Rutherford and the mage which circumstance forced him to Claim.

Summary
In a Thedas with no breach - and thus no Inquisition to run off to - Dorian is forced to submit to his familial duties. His father finally gets his way and arranges him a bride - one Evelyn Trevelyan of Ostwick. Naturally he's less than delighted but not all is as it seems...
(Please note - this is not a full blown Cullrian romance fic. There is flirting/fooling around/oodles of UST/a bit of eventual bed-hopping between Cullen and Dorian but the primary romantic pairings here are Cullen/f!Trev and Dorian/m!Trev.)

The skin had been scorched black from the magic and crumbled into ash in a matter of hours. The only thing left of her was the engagement ring from her left finger."
The Inquisitor died following the events of Trespasser, and eight years later, Cullen is still haunted by it while visiting Minrathous on behalf of the Inquisition.
