“No.” Emily says, voice measured. “I fucking hate it. It’s too early for you to be in the field,” despite the fact JJ had gone when they’d gotten The Disciple, “and it’s too early for you to go undercover. This team hasn’t sent an agent undercover in too long. And for it to be you? I won’t sign off on this.” She growls. JJ can clearly tell she’s about to claw her own hair out.
“More women will die if you don’t. And if we don’t go undercover, the unsub will cross state lines. And she’ll just start all over again.” JJ says, eyes narrowed.
“JJ. I will not let you go undercover and pretend to love who you don’t. Especially after losing who you did.” Emily’s fists clench at her sides. It was low, but a needed blow. Rossi is still quiet, glancing between the two women. It was like two immovable objects meeting the same unstoppable force; disagreement.✿
Vaguely based off both Casual by Chappell Roan and Forget Her by Jeff Buckley (r.i.p). Kinda. Anyway, TLDR, this is a s19 rewrite that stems from an undercover case. Cheating is implied, although Will is dead now, but still!
