Summary
“You’re not supposed to give up,” the Master says, echoing his endless screams that began when the Doctor didn’t even try to pick himself off the ground, that grew when he didn’t react to the harsh kick landing deep in his gut or the jeers spat in his face. The screams that petered off to nothing when he let the Master haul him onto his lap without complaint and sought comfort in the arms that damned him.
The Doctor presses a kiss to the hollow of his throat, the skin tear-stained and tacky with sweat. It’s the only apology he can bear to make. “I know.”
suns don't expand all at once. it take millions, billions of years for them to reach their final breaking point — to eat away every last speck of themselves and cast out into the vastness of space. they don't do this alone. they suck in planets and decimate worlds, swing those unfortunate enough to be caught in their orbit into the swell of their end.
and when these suns stop and look back, on the precipice of their death, they breathe out a fiery sigh of relief. it's over.

This was the first thoschei fanfic I've ever read. It's absolutely awesome, I've fallen in love with their dynamics and fell down the rabbit hole that I'm not leaving anytime soon. Kudos to you, starknight 👍
