The boy pressed himself even harder against the brick wall, biting back a whine as pain shot through his arm. He had a hand wrapped around the wound on his upper arm, warm from the blood trickling through his fingers. He struggled to use the wall to boost himself up, ignoring the pain that sparked in his ankle at the slightest pressure. He had to leave, get himself out of the alley and away. In a second desperate attempt the boy once again pressed himself against the wall, trying to lift his legs enough to stand, but slumped back with a groan as his ankle protested. He could still hear the fighting at the entrance of the alley, clashing on the streets. The urge to help tugged at him but he knew he couldn’t. He shuffled in a desperate last attempt, head beginning to spin as his blood continued to leave his arm. Suddenly, footsteps began to head toward him, from the same direction as the fighting.‼️discontinued‼️
