“Family trouble. Interesting,” Toni says. She thinks about the bottle of vodka Shelby bought at the gas station that day, and what that might have to do with the family issues.
“Stop. You’re becoming, like, Malfoy-level obsessed with her,” Martha says. Toni sits up abruptly, “I am not. Also, stop referencing your gay Harry Potter ships in my presence.”
Toni doesn't expect to fall for anyone in her senior year. Least of all for Shelby Goodkind, the new girl that arrived in town just before the end of summer. In fact, Toni can't even look at her for longer than two seconds, or listen to more than three sentences coming out of her mouth without wanting to accidentally push her off a cliff.
Cue a group project and endless bickering, and suddenly Toni finds herself with an unbearable crush.- Language:

Toni had spent her life being shuffled from one foster home to the next until finally landing at her current placement, which was nearly worse than all the other homes she was placed. Only, she couldn't fight and misbehave her way out of this one because her next stop was a group home miles away from her life.
To make matters worse, she had been assigned desk partners with the most irritating girl in junior year. Toni later finds out that maybe there is more to Shelby Goodkind than meets the eye.

Three months after their Valentine's Day shenanigans, the girls gear up for Prom and Graduation! Toni and Shelby have been keeping things hidden since Shelby isn't out yet, but Toni wants to take Shelby to Prom. Rachel has never wanted to go to Prom, but now that she has Leah, she's changed her tune.
Nothing can be perfect in life, and these are the events of those imperfections...
