Bait never thought of themselves as alive. How could they? They are what they are, some say, a bait. A lure, with no mind, no thoughts, no other purpose.
Their wings aren’t ment for freedom, just another part of them to distract.
But there’s this part of them, it aches, it begs, it hurts, it talks, it feels. It makes them alive. What makes them a living thing like any other stick figure instead of an inanimate object.
She wishes they could see that.
At least they have new friends to make them feel alive.
