Summary
The sun, the chariot itself, is fainter than usual, and the god who had been pulling it across the world is nowhere to be found.
Which means to say, Apollo went missing, and the gods are in a frantic that they can't feel his godly presence anywhere. The sun is almost still the same but the difference is there; Zeus is bewildered, Leto is enraged, Artemis and Hermes are wailing, Poseidon is worried. This has never happened before. Even Hades had been looking for him in the Underworld in case he turned into a mortal and the monsters got him without any warning.
And Percy? Oh, he had been restless since he heard the grave news, and not even the Fates could stop him tearing the world apart to find the sun that brought light to his life, and made a way to his heart.
