Reki's sister stars in the popular show "Til Death Do We Skate" which is about the S mutation aka a mutation to the secondary gender causing a zombie apocalypse. Awkwardly, in real life Reki has an unknown secondary gender because he is a mutation. Even more awkward, his mutation allows him to see the bonds/strings connecting individuals including the ones connecting him to the very out of his league coworkers of his sister: Langa Hasegawa and Miya Chinen.

The consensus was that sixteen was the deadline for presenting as either alpha or omega. So, when Reki turned seventeen and still hadn’t had that moment of secondary gender awakening he shrugged and accepted that he was a beta. He wasn’t surprised: he was terrible at smelling the scents of others. If his nose did happen to catch a whiff, it would materialize as a quick mental image in his head. It was hard to explain. It was like he was seeing a picture summary of an individual’s vibe. His manager Oka understood, and he was a beta, which just further seemed to prove that Reki was one as well…. Right?
