Summary
Wylan Van Eck wakes up in the middle of a dark room, with no recollection of how he'd gotten there. He discovers he was kidnapped by none other than Kaz Brekker and his band of pirates under the pretense of attempting to gain a fat ransom price for his safe return. Wylan knows better, and that his father wouldn't care to pay it, but he knows better than to say that. The threat of death always looming over him. But certain memories start coming back to him in fragments of his missing timeline, and he starts to realize that maybe this was never a bad accident after all. And that he should've never underestimated Kaz Brekker.
