Summary
The salty ocean breeze offers no reprieve from the blazing heat bearing down on the ship’s deck. Remnants of gunpowder perfume the air, and the defeated crew stands in a straight line along the port side. The rough, common fabric of Kiyoomi’s borrowed clothes irritates his delicate skin, a far cry from the refined blends he wore when the attack first began. They were overtaken easily, the pirates attacking their ship with targeted precision, subduing them without any casualties on either side. An utter embarrassment for a navy ship of the Imperial Army.
As if he were out for an afternoon stroll through the garden, the pirate captain has been watching them, giving each man in line a leisurely inspection while his crew ransacks below deck, searching for valuables.
