Summary
“You dressed up for me, didn’t you?”
The prince flushed instantly—cheeks warm, ears turning red beneath the fall of gold in his hair.
“I—I did not,” he managed, far too quickly.
The stranger froze.
Only for a blink. A breath.
And then—He howled. A laugh tore from his chest—loud and wild. Not the sly little chuckle he usually exhaled, but something full-bodied and absolutely delighted.
“You—you actually did!” he gasped, clutching his stomach as if the absurdity physically hurt him. “Oh, witches, I was only teasing! I didn’t think—oh, you dumb, dumb prince!”
Pure Vanilla, still very much crimson-faced, crossed his arms lightly, trying—and failing—not to let the corner of his mouth twitch.
“I did not dress up for you,” he repeated, softer this time.
The thief wiped the corner of his eye, breath hitching between the remains of his laughter. “Oh, please, don’t lie to me now, little prince. I’m already touched.” He sat up straighter, juggling his half-eaten apple as if he was a jester in mid act. “You waltzed into the woods looking almost like a bride, I mean! Witches! You’ve got enough metal on you to ransom a kingdom!"

Summary
“The mermaids are foolish enough to succumb to the most pathetic weakness. Love.” The captain sneers, and he kicks the scratched wooden door open with a slam.
Jimin gasps, and his hands fly up to clap over his mouth, heart slamming into his throat. The chains are blood-soaked, and wound so cruelly tightly around the boy hanging limply from them, bruised wrists and battered chest and a cruel collar viciously locked around his neck, chained to the wall behind him. But above everything, Jimin’s wide eyes and heaving lungs are caught on the enormous tail, deep purple iridescent scales, chained heavily and locked against the wooden slats at their feet. His bare torso is marred with dark bruising, littered with slashes, and his head hangs as if unconscious against his chest, long dark hair covering his face as he stirs weakly.
“See, those beasts I told you about?” The captain drawls, smug and aloof. “There’s six of them, with the power to take down any ship and capture any treasure and best any man, any king. And me?”
The captain leans down until his hard-lined face is inches from the mermaid’s, smirking when he flinches back with a quiet gasp and throwing Jimin a darkly victorious grin. “I have their youngest.”Bookmarked by Smaug5512
