Summary
Three years have passed since the King was defeated and Vaugarde was saved. Mirabelle spent those years helping around the country, but she’s been putting off her pilgrimage long enough.
The reason for her pilgrimage is a little... unorthodox, however. She's looking for someone, and all she has is a vague description, the name of a Mwudu university, bare strokes of a plan, and the mirror picture she's kept in her pocket since finding it on Siffrin's bed in the infirmary. No one knows where they disappeared to after he collapsed right after the battle with the King, but if Mirabelle's right, if she finds Siffrin in Mwudu, then...
She's... not sure. She wants answers. She knows that much, but the answers turn out to be more complicated than she'd thought to imagine.
A housemaiden should know how to let go, but sometimes it's important to know when to hold on tight.

It’s Bonnie’s birthday. Their first one. Even after all of these years, you still remember. You still celebrate.
You haven’t seen them for a long while. Euanthe is here, though. It’s rare that they’re gone when you need them.
“How are you?” They ask, lanky legs folded on pale stone. It’s been such a long time, but sometimes it still surprises you—their face, that is. Being so similar to you. “Holding up?”
You breathe in, and out.
“I’ve been worse,” you say instead of anything that could truly measure it, because worse is a nebulous and terrifying concept for you. Those hazy memories from lifetimes ago.

Summary
There is a strange story circulating Bambouche. It talks about an odd boat that was found in pieces by the shore. The rumors say there was even the body of an unknown child found. They say it washed up after a particularly bad storm. The kid must have been unfortunate enough to get caught up in it.
They didn't make it.
A very long time afterwards, something strange started happening around the coastal town. People whisper about a strange kid appearing and disappearing when the nights are the most clear. A child in a white cloak and a strange hat. Their hair and skin just as darkless. People say it's the spirit of the boy who washed up. Forced to wander, lost and confused. But these are just rumors, a classic ghost story after a sad incident. I mean, after all…
Ghosts aren't real.
And Petronille just wants to care for her little sibling.
Or: Petronille and a younger Bonnie do sibling family stuff, while Siffrin does ghostly shenanigans.
