Nico glanced down at his see-through hands and tried to focus them to return to solid-form but no matter how much he tried for the opposite, he continued to lose form. He glanced around, hoping to at least say goodbye to a familiar face, but he couldn’t recognize anyone through his fading eyes. He didn’t dare risk moving, uncertain how his fading legs would handle the attempted movement. He let out a pained laugh. Of course, of course he couldn’t find happiness in this life.
He was Nico Di Angelo, son of Hades, he wasn’t made for happiness.

Blood of Olympus really foreshadowed Nico dying, didn't it? It would have made sense. However, I saw an idea on Tumblr that it should have made Nico ascend to godhood.

But everything changed, a prophecy was told, more than 30 years passed, the monsters no longer attacked the Demigods thanks to Nico and the Demigods finally reached adulthood. But Nico, with his 16-year-old appearance, returns to Camp for Purification Rituals, where he meets 18-year-old Luke Jackson and they immediately fall in love. Is the world ready for this love?
