“Why did I let him convince me into this?” He voiced out loud to no one in particular. His co-worker Mitsutada had managed to get him into the idea of a blind date. He’d said things like, “Kasen you have to get out more.” and “He’s one of my university friends, he’s really great, you'll love him.” and worst of all, “I don’t want you to be lonely for Christmas.”
AKA. TKRB modern setting where Mitsutada convinces Kasen to go on a blind date with someone who turns out to be someone Kasen enjoys...just maybe.

Ookurikara was almost the last one back, Sakakibara Yasumasa having held out for many years longer than the other retainers, outlived only by Honda Tadakatsu himself. Monoyoshi waited by the entrance on the day he was due to return, an odd sense of responsibility weighing heavily on his shoulders - it was his lord, after all, who was the centre of all this, and yet Torii Mototada had died years before.

“They won’t come close to me. I thought…”
Of course, Sengo thought, the great spiritual power of Oodenta Mitsuyo, so great that even the birds would fall from the sky as they passed overhead, overwhelmed by its energy. How tragic that it would follow him into humanity, driving nature away from him in fear.
The lonely set to Oodenta’s shoulders was uncomfortably familiar, though Sengo tried not to dwell on it.
