“I need your help,” Agnieszka says.
Normal students come to their masters with requests like that when they need help understanding a complicated new working, or perhaps when they’re looking for advice on a course of study to pursue. Agnieszka is more likely to tell him that she’s accidentally turned one of the other students into a toad and can’t figure out how to undo it—because she has no clue how she did it in the first place.
So Sarkan feels perfectly justified in sighing. “What did you do now?”
“Nothing you wouldn’t approve of.” Agnieszka shrugs. “Although I didn’t do it on purpose. I think I cursed Marek.”
