“Nah,” Vi says, “see you during,” she rubs the spot Caitlyn nuzzled into, “the Queen insisted I attend.”
“S-she did?” Caitlyn can’t keep the stutter out of her voice. She barely gets the shock off her face so it doesn’t concern Vi, “I suppose that’s appropriate.”
Vi shrugs.
“I guess she wanted to glare at me one more time before she admits I didn’t—,” trails off.
“Kill the Princess?” Caitlyn finishes, unable to let the last joke they share go unanswered. A grin breaks across Vi’s face, “I’ll see you there.”
Tradition demands the heir to Piltover's throne remain hidden among the Knights until their nameday. Caitlyn grows up with her identity a closely guarded secret, but among her group of Knights she is not the only one hiding something.
