The night of the new moon was usually ideal for your work, but when it coincided with the death of Sirius Black, nothing went as expected.

McGonagall flicked her wand in a short spiral motion, and my shoe was returned to its rightful place on my foot.
“Seeing as Sir Nicholas is laughing over in the corner, and given Mr. Dennis Creavey of Gryffindor’s tendency for lateness, I may have some idea of what happened here. I’ll let you two off with a warning this time, seeing as neither of you have ever been in detention before or lost your House any points- I’m assuming this was all an accident out of the kindness of my heart.” She explained, and I held my hands up in a prayer stance to thank her.
Seeing as McGonagall’s work is only finished when a lesson is learned, she continued her reprimand, “But, if you get caught together in such a compromising position again, I will not shrink away from appropriately punishing. Romance is all well and good, but just not in the middle of the hallway. Mr. Nott, let’s have slightly more decorum when courting. And Miss Wise, let’s not use a young man as a tree to climb on."

Summary
“I’m hurt that you’d assume I’m asking you for something.” Bill turned around, so he was walking backwards and facing me. He put a hand over his heart, giving me a pout.
“Well, are you?”
“Yes.”
I chuckled, “See? Point proven.”
He stumbles a little, but regains balance as we traverse the steep uphill, “I want to know why we aren’t together.”
(Or, in other words: Apparition is derived from the word "Appareo" which is Latin for "appear" or "I become visible".)

I held up my hands in fists, “I suppose, Ava’s twin, Owen is cute. So I guess, Owen Wood.” I had one finger up, and Chang’e seemed insistent to know the rest of the hallway crushes I had.
Clearing my throat, I pressed on, “Blaine Zabini,” That confession emitted a chuckle from Kinsey due to Zabini being a year younger than us, “Thomas Nottingham, he’s a sweetheart. And I can’t forget our fellow Ravenclaw Zeke Cavan.”
I continued my list until there were two fingers left. My savior, the ten minute warning whistle rang out, so I shrugged. “Oh, guess we’ll never know.”
“But it was just getting good,” Teddy commented, with a laugh.
I twisted around, almost flinging myself over the bench from the force, “When did you get here?”

Summary
Raising your cousin’s child could have been easier. Easier if she was still alive, easier if you had someone to talk to that wasn’t still learning his first words. After Lily died, you were left with a hundred unanswered questions and a baby in your hands. You now only have this baby to lean on and learn from. There are few strange things happening around you. The occasional strange visitor at your door, the neighborhood cat that never eats, or the loud boom of a motorcycle engine at night.
Parenting anxieties and learning how to take care of a baby as a new- not really mother, could have been way easier if you had someone by your side. Too bad there would be no one willing to. You're not here to bring someone into your life or replace baby Harry’s parents. You’re here to take charge and care of not your baby but your nephew? It’s complicated.
