There is no sun. No sound. No colours. Just her.
In a world stitched together by static and stillness, Mafuyu exists as a version of herself that never had to leave. A version that never had to try again. Here, in a world where everything is formed within her dreams, nothing hurts... but nothing heals, either.
Outside, Kanade composes endlessly, searching for a melody strong enough to save her. Outside, the rest of N25 continue to reach for her through every song. Inside, Mafuyu forgets.
She doesn't look perfect here. She doesn't feel. There's nothing to miss, and no one to miss her.
It's quiet, it's safe. It's empty.
And she thinks she could stay here forever, trapped in endless dreaming...
If only the memories would stop trying to follow her in.
If only she didn't have to wake up. If only she could keep sleeping forever. -

Summary
Cheng Xiaoshi has returned to the present. The present, where everything was fine. The present, where nothing was wrong, where no one was suffering.
All except for him.
He had failed. He had failed to save everyone from the catastrophic earthquake of 2008. He had followed the first idea that came to mind, an attempt to try and save everyone before the earthquake reached them. Yet that had ended in failure.
He had made a mistake. One simple mistake that turned into a series of more mistakes, like knocking over a row of domino pieces that had previously been neatly aligned, standing in rows.
He had been warned countless times by Lu Guang not to change the past, a warning which he had gone against.
Which ultimately led him to his failure. -
