Selfish. He was so selfish. To think he could ever indulge in something like this, someone like Trey, a human, when his lips were so stained with blood, his mouth so dreadfully contaminated.
There was so much he hadn’t told Trey, so much he’d kept to himself. And despite how often Jade used such a tactic, deception was not something he wished to use on Trey; the human didn’t deserve a partner who only knew how to lie, after all, even if he wanted Jade the same way Jade wanted him.
A part of him wished Trey would understand. Trey, who had been the only one to stay and listen to Jade’s rants, Trey, who still treated him like any other person, despite all the rumors around him—that same Trey, perhaps, would continue to stay if Jade told him now, would continue to kiss Jade until all the worries of his mind disappeared.
But Trey was still human, and their relationship was merely surface-level.
In which Jade has a secret he can never tell Trey.

This was actually the fic that got me into reading fanfics and treyjade and honestly never left my mind, it ha s a very special place in my heart and i wish more people got to know it
The characterization was so good and it was really easy to read, not tiring at all and the pacing just got to me, it made me want to keep reading more and more, i genuinely couldn't sleep until i finished reading it
I particularly enjoy how jade's relationship with trey and his family is portrait, seeing deep into his thoughts about what trey would think of him eating flesh really made me like it even more
I wish i had more to say but i've read this long months ago and don't recall everything to detail, but i frequently think about this fic and wish i could read it again. Out of all treyjade fics i've read, this is definitely in the top three -

This is genuinely so good omg??? This might be one of my favorites treyjade fics so far.
Im all here for the angst and the happy ending and i really like how we get to see how characters around then get affected by the news their friends have such disease and can't do anything but accept it and enjoy every second they have left, since every memory might be the last.
I also really like the ending, the terrarium is infact a bit morbid but there's something poetic about it
I wish i could inject this fic into my blood and DNA so it'll stay with me forever
