Summary
A violent, ruthless vigilante hunts in the shadows, intent on cleaning up her city, whether it likes it or not. But the Devil of Brockton Bay is not the only force for change waiting in the dark--a new threat to the stability of the city is on the rise. And a clash of ideals on this scale can only have one victor.
Part I of "Brockton by Night", a Daredevil/Defenders Fusion AU where few things are what you first expect, and fewer are as straightforward as they seem.

Summary
Lily’s voice is achingly kind. “The way you look at her is pretty familiar, Crystal.”
I swallow, chew at my cheek a moment. “...that situation will take time to change. If it changes.”
“Are you okay with it, if it doesn’t?”
Sunlight dances atop the waves on the sound, and I lean back a bit, try to relax and appreciate the show. “I just want Lisa in my life. However she wants to be, it’s enough.”

Summary

“There is nothing good or glamorous about any of this,” she adds before taking another long drink.
Crystal Pelham is surprisingly bitter when she’s a couple cups deep.
Then again, after the month she’s had, can I really blame her?

Summary
“I think I get it now,” I whispered in Lisa’s ear, low enough only she could hear me even though I was fairly sure we were alone. “What you said about holding on to rage forever, letting anger hollow you out.” I glanced over to the retreating figure in the distance. “You were right, it’s no way to live. Hard to call it ‘living’ at all.”
She grinned widely, letting her teeth show. “Sorry, Crystal, I didn’t catch what you said there. I was distracted for a second.”
“I’m not repeating it.”
