Summary
Kanao knew death was inevitable, especially in the Demon Slayer Corp. During the final battle with Muzan she knew that her life had come to an end as Muzan’s tendril pierced through her body. She would join her other fallen comrades, what she didn’t expect was to wake up in the same hell she knew as a child. This time she wasn’t in Japan at all…
Whitebeard was content with his family, he had his sons and daughters; and before some had even met him had already had families of their own. To his surprise his sons surprise him with a granddaughter.

Summary
this is an au where kanao ends up with the whitebeard pirates instead of the butterfly estate. timeline is… flexible, and so is characterization to an extent, but i tried to keep the emotional core intact.
kanao here is a lot younger and leans more into the “conditioned not to choose” aspect of her backstory. this fic focuses more on unlearning that rather than canon plot.

Ace stares back at him for a moment, before leaning his head back against the cell wall and smiling. Memories of him, Luffy, and Sabo running through the forest flash before his eyes, and nostalgia fills him. The months that the three of them spent together are Ace’s most treasured memories.
He grins, shaking his head and chuckling as he says, “Well, I guess if I’m going to talk about him as a kid, I should talk about my twin first.”
