Summary
A colleague of Yoo Sangah’s asks, bewildered, “Who are those guys, anyway?”
She sips on her drink as they watch the bathroom door close after Yoo Joonghyuk, along with the trappings of Dokja’s laughter and Sooyoung’s rambling.
She smiles reassuringly and says, “They’re Sooyoung’s boys. They’ve been orbiting each other a long time, the three of them.”
This is the real stuff of love.

Summary
“Anyway,” Kim Dokja says, lilting and teasing as usual, and swoops into the dining room to dump the utensils and plates next to Han Sooyoung, “you scare the kids with that frown of yours.”Yoo Joonghyuk amusedly murmurs, as he follows Kim Dokja in, “I’ll keep that in mind.”
Being a writer is hard.

Summary
”You don’t get it,” Kim Dokja shakes his head self-consciously.
However, Lee Sookyung was the first person to know this: her son is more terrible to himself than the world has been. His self-administered punishments started young, by being the one to grab the knife instead of her.
“Sure, maybe I don’t.” Lee Sookyung nods, “My point still stands—so what if you’ve been a bit terrible? You’ve also been good too.”
Unfortunately, Kim Dokja never does things the easy way. It’s a lot easier to remember things by learning through pain.

Summary
Lee Hyunsung shakes his head. “If we met before all this, or in another universe where nothing ever went wrong—would you still be the same?”
“That’s a question with a lot of variables,” Kim Dokja dodges with a flourish of his hand. He winces.
“Fine, then answer this, Dokja.” Lee Hyunsung pinches the bridge of his nose. “Can you truthfully say you always go out the front door with the intention of making it back in one piece?”
“I’ve got your back and you got mine,” Kim Dokja eventually says, as Yoo Joonghyuk and Han Sooyoung quietly discuss what to do down the hall. “That’s all there is to it.”
You don’t always get warning signs or alarm bells to tell you that you may need to grieve before you are ready to. You can’t say Kim Dokja wasn’t generous—he gave them plenty of time to figure it out.

Summary
“If things were different—if you were a little braver,” he muses, “for starters, I’d probably be here, living with you.”
Oh, the things Lee Sookyung would do to have a brain capable of inventing the time machine.
Lee Sookyung’s only child visits home.
