Summary
After the last events that shocked everyone to the core, Alec and Magnus are relieved that they can take a day off to clear their minds off things.
Walking with Madzie in the streets of New-York was a distraction they both needed, when she notice a Ice-Cream shop and wants to try it out, Alec and Magnus don't see any problem with it.
Arguing about what was the best Ice-Cream flavor was not part of the plan, though.
But again, sometimes, Mundanes are weird.

"We'll spend more time together," bits back Magnus in a wry tone. "Oh, the torture!"
Alec from his seat can't hide his small amused smile. He opens a book in an absent gesture before he closes it again, almost immediately.
Alec rubs his eyes and put the book he was still holding above Magnus one while he continues, "-I'll come back to the Institute and examine Morgan, see if my magic can't shed some light in things."
"Thank you but with this, I just-" retorts Alec with a shake of his head before stopping at mid-sentence.
He feels like he's drowning and he can't do anything to prevent it.
Or
Magnus finds the right words to appease Alec fears and proves to him that he's not going anywhere.

"The powers were intentionally corrupted last night and only a high amount of magic could have done something like this."
Magnus who was standing in front of the new High Warlock of Brooklyn tried to keep a neutral expression at Lorenzo words, but then the other man continued his stupid accusations.
"You might have saved the day, last night, with your shadowhunter friend but I know that you are the one behind all of this and-" he approached his face even closer towards Magnus one, "If I need to banish every problematic warlock for their crimes then so be it."

And, somehow, every time Alec was tested or questioned about his abilities or his capacity as a good Head of Institute, he was always passing with flying colors.

“Lucas, she wouldn’t want you to–” Will began, but was quickly cut off before he got the chance to finish.
"Don’t speak for her like she's dead!" Lucas snapped, voice raised and full of agitation. His nerves were well and truly frayed from the sleep deprivation, meaning that his temper had been considerably shortened. "Because she's not. She's not. She's still in there, I know it."

When visiting Max in the hospital, Lucas and Will have a long overdue heart-to-heart, soon realizing that they understand each other a lot more than they initially thought they did.
