He took it carefully, handing it over to Daeron who let out a soft breath at the weight. "Do you really think it will hatch?" There was nervous hope in his voice, and Valarr gave a confident nod. He had no doubt with that. He would have a dragon."It might take a while, but it will hatch. I know it will. We're all going to have dragons, every single one of us."
When he looked over at Aerion, wide, violet eyes were fixed on him. "You really think?" His breath caught at the way Aerion stared up at him, pressing his forehead against his cousin's as he nodded his head.
"Mhm. You'll get yours one day, and we'll make sure it hatches too. Promise."
He took the egg back, holding it in his lap as he traced the streaks of black with thumb. Aerion's head rested against his shoulder, his own hand reaching to stroke over the scales, the three wondering just how they might make it happen.
