Summary
Arthur was a far better person than he.
John wanted. He leaned over Arthur in the bed, watching his nose crinkle adorably as a stray hair brushed over it, and he wanted.
He wanted to touch, to feel, to be with Arthur again. It burned, being so close yet never close enough. He wanted to be inside of Arthur, to burrow into his bones and exist warm and safe in his flesh and blood. He wanted to consume him, to wrap the many limbs he used to have around his arms and legs, fold him up in his golden cloak and hold him there forever. He wanted to protect him from the horrors of the world and the horrors in his mind and hide him from everything that could cause him pain.
John thinks about his many misgivings with the new situation of being apart from Arthur, and battles his own sleep demons. Set sometime after the events of canon? I don’t know, but John has his own body now.
