Summary
Mortally wounded protecting a youngling bright in the Force, a dying Qui-Gon Jinn asks his padawan to take the boy to the Jedi Temple and train him.
Though this is his old master's last wish and though he promises to see it through, young Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker cannot bring himself to train the boy he blames for his master's death. Instead, he gives Obi-Wan Kenobi to the Jedi Council and embarks upon an undercover mission that pulls him to the Outer Rim where he can lick his wounds in peace and wait for his anger and grief to burn itself out. Ten years later, he returns to Coruscant only to find that Obi-Wan Kenobi has had the gall to leave the Jedi Order and his padawanship to become a Senator's Aide, as if it weren't Qui-Gon Jinn's wish for him to be a Jedi.
This cannot stand. Anakin will not allow it to, even if it means that he must train the boy himself, all these years later.
Even if the boy wants nothing to do with him.
