    His Aunt May drowning.
    The foster care system.
    Being Kidnapped by the Cult of Luna.
    Even being torn apart atom by atom, but nothing was worse than slowing fading away, knowing that you caused that look in your mentors *ahem (father) ahem* eyes.

    He should be dead. So why is he in a dumpster in the back alley of nowhere?

    The next night, he woke up confused and hungry. His mind wandered, lingering on one simple question: How am I still alive?

Gotham wasn't exactly known for its hospitality toward outsiders, especially heroes whose themes didn't involve bats or birds.

    “Not New York,” Bucky said, voice flat.

    “No kidding,” Peter said, half to himself. He shifted, wincing faintly at the bruises blooming under his hoodie. “So what’s the plan? We got no Stark, no Strange, no Avengers…just us. And, you know, a very questionable Uber service through reality.”
