"I will EAT when we reach the city."
"There isn't any city! The closest one is but 100 miles away from us an-and..Sir I'm afraid you won't make it till then." Flug got closer to the demon that was heaving on the floor. He watched as BlackHat's arms trembled. His mouth still spitting green acid to the dirt.
Flug swallowed before saying what they've both been dreading. Raising his arm as he pulled his sleeve up his elbow, he took another step closer.
"Y-you need to eat -"
"I WONT EAT YOU!" He snarled as he took a step back.

Summary
Black Hat was no idiot. An incredibly possessive and extremely dangerous eldritch demon, yes; but he was far from being an idiot. He learned many things about his doctor, many things that benefited him in very special ways. One of the things Black Hat learned about Flug was his unique scent, and the day the doctor came in with a kick in his step and a smile not quite hidden under his bag, Black Hat noticed a change in the things he'd learned.
That was not his doctor's scent.
