Summary
Captain Alberich is sailing along the coast when the trawling net brings in a surprise: merman Diluc!... again. Despite the circumstances, the two decide to go after a common enemy: a group of Fatui that have been trafficking people/creatures for the Harbingers. The two are on the case: friends in arms, at least for now. Kaeluc Mermaid/man AU.
NOTE: I changed (obviously) some stuff from the source material. However, I did try to keep some general themes/personalities the same. This fanfic was also inspired by chofi's fanart, as well as a reddit post. Link to both in the notes at the beginning.

Diluc cleared his voice and took a step forward. «I am. Captain Diluc Ragnvindr, at your service,» he bowed a little during the introduction, the years of noble life he left behind instilled in his body.
Blackbeard lifted his brows and blew what looked like an amused whistle. «You don't have a piratical nickname? But you do have a pirate flag.»
«I… I don't. I've… - Diluc cleared his throat again, feeling his voice raspy. - Just started.»
Blackbeard's lips curved in a grin. «You do look like a newbie. You know what? You're funny. You'll be my disciple.»
Diluc had the same reaction the two crews had. He opened his eyes wide, mouth agape, and left out a high-pitched and dazed "what?".
