“Please,” Jack whispered. “Say something. Anything.”
Joke’s breath hitched. Tiny shivers ran through his fingers, curling slightly into Jack’s white shirt, then dropped again. Eyes squeezed shut, forehead pressed hard against Jack’s shoulder.
He remembered the last time Joke shut down like this, after the warehouse - months ago, and how it had taken two days just to get a single word out of him. He couldn’t bear that again. Couldn’t handle feeling helpless while someone he loved quietly disappeared into himself.
“You shutting down like this…” he murmured shakily. “It makes me feel like I’m losing you.”

Jack can't help but notice the quiet ways Joke’s childhood affects him, until they are not so silent anymore.

Jimin didn’t slow down.
“Jimin—” A hand caught his shoulder. Not rough. Not forceful. Just enough to stop him. “Please,” Jungkook said, quieter now. “At least look at me—”
Jimin turned sharply, shoving him back hard enough to make him stumble.
“Leave me the fuck alone,” Jimin snapped, his voice cutting, louder than he intended but he didn’t care. A couple people nearby slowed, glancing over. “I don’t know why I listened to anything you ever told me.”
