Summary
The generation of Americans born between 1901 and 1927 is now often called the “Greatest Generation.” Their formative years were spent in the midst of an unprecedented economic collapse, and their young adulthood in World War 2. Subjected to constant threat from bombs, guns, artillery and land mines, many succumbed what was then called ‘Combat Fatigue.’ Others turned to stimulants to keep awake - And alive - Through their deployments. Many who came home never recovered. One such casualty would slip into a coma and eventually die of a drug overdose in a hotel room in the year 1950, going on in his afterlife to become a porn star.
But before Angel Dust found fame, fortune and acclaim as a celebrity sex worker, a young man sat at the edge of his platoon’s encampment. The year was 1944. His platoon was camped in the Danube Forest just past the Bavarian-Austrian border. He was cold, wet, scared, and strung out on stolen Pervitin.
