    Summary

Persee was well and truly human. A baby boy with colouring that favoured the ocean, sure, but human nonetheless. And, oh, she mourned. In those three seconds, perhaps less, during which silence reigned before her son began to cry, she mourned for the sons of the past—the Perseus’ that had preceded him. She had considered naming him differently, setting him apart. And she could not. He was her boy. They were all her boys.

    Summary

The words were grim, and both he and Juno seemed to be waiting for Livia to deny the child. It was a right reserved for the father, but neither of them were paying him much attention at all. Neptune wisely kept his mouth shut, not wanting to incur his sister’s wrath. Finally, Livia spoke. She looked briefly at their child, nestled into her chest, then at Juno and Apollo in turn. “Then his name shall be Perseus.”

Or, Perseus' second life, as told by the four Roman Gods that shaped him.

And— Theano knew it would be safest for him, knew that the Gods did not personally collect heroes to take them to Camp. Perseus was dangerous, and Apollon knew it. But Gods, she did not want to part with her son so early. He was only seven! He could barely read! But it was a mother’s duty to make the difficult decisions, so she agreed.

Her son was taken away the next day, and Theano would not see him again for seven years.

Or, Perseus' first life, as told by the people who loved him.
