Summary
They learn that between 2 and 3 a.m. Jackie is kind and patient, but above all - he’s steady on his legs when Gigi’s own get wobbly. “Careful, baby Geeg,” he says, alongside a playful jab about needing to go to the gym more if Gigi insists on being the lightweight between the two of them. Half-past Jackie is always more than o’clock Jackie, so in the early morning hours racing with dawn he’s caring and doting and adorably standing in the doorway, trying to gauge if there are more pillows needed or less pillows needed. In Gigi’s opinion, the only thing needed is him by their side, but that gets fixed pretty fast usually.
Or: Gigi couldn't care less about the passage of time, but Jackie cares a lot, and they're in love, so Gigi is trying.

Nicky doesn't catch the name. She’s pretty sure it’s because Crystal never said it, but, to be fair, she doesn't catch many things. It's hard to focus on what Crystal is saying when she can look at her instead. She'll write it off as a language barrier later, but it’s not that. It's… keen interest. That’s what it is. And Nicky totally isn’t thinking that it could also be translated as an infatuation, especially not when Crystal is telling her about the girl she likes.
She’s asking for advice on flirting with someone else, so Nicky’s luck really isn’t the best.

The cardigan smells of patchouli and yasmin, the perfumes Jackie uses on lazy days that truly deserve better than two bedrooms with an excuse for a living room and no A/C, and on the ones she’s happy. She didn’t tell Jan that, but she’s seen the steady, calm warmth in her eyes and made the connection herself. It smells of patchouli and yasmin, but Jan doesn’t have to burrow her nose in the material to sense that. She noticed Jackie was happy in the morning, so it must smell like that. She just knows it does, and then it dawns on her.
She’s in love.

She could smell the tang of his fear hanging in the air like pheromones. He truly was at his last grasp of sanity; a Hyde without a master was only madness driven inwards, layers upon layers of insanity folding in upon itself like a slow-acting implosion. He had no chance at ever being normal, but that didn’t mean she had to leash the beast instead of slay it.
“Say it,” Wednesday declared.
Tyler’s head tilted. “Why?”
“Because I want to hear if you mean it.”
The corner of his mouth twitched. “You want obedience, or proof?”
