This is a revised version of the original work The Trust I Put In You.
Everyone has their own problems, and while we seem to face them day to day on our own there are often times when others come along to help us in the journey of our struggles. Regardless of how these people impact our lives (positively or negatively) all teach us some lesson we have the chance to carry with us. So what happens when Nico, a new student at a new school, meets Percy? They both have their troubled pasts and their trust issues but an unlikely friendship forms like a rose in the thorn bush. Together they grow and push each other to become better and to deal with the problems that they have.
But the lessons they take away from each other may be all that is left at the end of the day. Is this a friendship that will grow with them or just a chance meeting that will end before either of them is ready?

Percy has finally come out of two wars alive, thanks to one boy who continually saved him without him realizing it. He has figured out where he stands with Annabeth and now all he is doing is figuring out how to be alone with the only other person he has thought about moving on from him.
Nico decided it was time to move on, only what does that even mean? He has and is in love with Percy going on three years, that can't all just be pushed aside for someone new. And what does it mean when Percy and Annabeth break up, is Nico just going to leave Percy to cope on his own?Series

Summary
Nico has been just fine living on his own. He doesn't talk to his old friends, doesn't even remember how long it has been since he has even tried. And he is great. But he can never forget that he is a demigod.
Percy and Annabeth broke up, so now Percy is letting himself be 'lost at sea' while he thinks about why Annabeth left him.
When the announcement comes out that the government has discovered demigods both of them are surprised and go to New Rome to help in any way they can. The last thing they expect though is to find out that the demigods that were 'discovered' no one has ever seen before. A group of them found New Rome and are seeking refuge, but the Greeks and Romans are just curious why they never knew of an entire island of demigods just off the coast of Alcatraz.
And who is Megara Jason, the girl that had given her life when she thought it would save this city? Is she really dead? Nico and Percy are going to have to work together when Nico gets stuck with subject 197088, otherwise known as Lady, who has no memory of who she is. Can the two of them become anything though? Lady is willing to help out while they try to piece together her life.

Summary
Everyone has their issues. Nico deals with his everyday by putting on a smile and pretending he is okay, by running away from anyone that can hurt him and pushing away anyone that tries to get close.
Percy has his problems too, and he wants to help Nico deal with his problems in a healthier way. Does it go deeper than just wanting to help a friend? Percy wants to know Nico's past and wants to trust Nico with his past as well, but not everything works out the way you would think.
If Nico lets Percy in will he have finally found the one person that he doesn't have to run away from?

On request I have written out what happened between Jason and Piper. This is a short story to explain their relationship in my fanfic The Aftermath.
