Xie Lian took a deep breath, and then started: “Would General Hua Cheng consider becoming my concubine?” he blurted out, feeling his face grow shock red. “I mean- what I wanted to say was- the ministers have been pressuring me to claim one or several, but I am against it. I also do not wish for General Hua Cheng’s competence and skill to be lost. The ministers cannot dictate my personal life and- it would be as if General Hua Cheng is my advisor, even if the title will be a different one.”
