Summary
“… Perhaps it is not that he wants something of you, perhaps there’s a deeper reasoning behind this gesture.”
Truth meets Inference’s gaze again, and he can’t help but swallow, his heart pulsing almost nervously in his chest as she continues.
“Or, more simply… Maybe he cannot contain his feelings for you any longer. After all, you are old friends that have reunited once more. Seeing you again after all this time… May have stirred up long forgotten emotions.”
Inferences cheeks redden at the suggestion in her words— that there’s been something between them for over a decade that has stirred between them once more. He doesn’t refute her words, but he doesn’t confirm them either.

Summary
“You know, Detective, i’ve already said it before, but…” Ronald trails off, lips curling meaningfully as he squeezes his hand gently. “I really am happy we met again.”
Inference’s heart pounds at the look on his face, eyes fond like Inference is something precious.
His hand feels like it’s burning from where Ronald’s is resting, and slowly, almost daringly, he laces their fingers together, squeezing Ronald’s hand in return.
Ronald’s eyes light up at the gesture, and Inference suddenly can’t look at him, emotions feeling so complicated his tongue feels tied.
He doesn’t know what to make of it.

Summary
Inference has a dilemma.
Now, this isn’t exactly a rare occurrence for someone of his caliber. As a detective that is often sought after to solve a number of difficult cases, it’s more often than not that he faces some sort of “dilemma.”
This, however, is something different. When it comes to the cases he spends restless nights battering to solve, they’re something he has grown used to. Something he expects.
The way his heart has begun to flutter like the delicate wings of a butterfly when he sees Ronald Of Ness, though, is another sort of dilemma entirely.

Summary
“You’re not so bad, Orpheus,” He grins, eyes crinkled and warm as he looks at the other man. “Despite what you want everyone to believe.”
Orpheus blinks at him, once, twice, looking caught off guard. And then, he laughs. Something full and deep, and it’s the most genuine sound Norton thinks he’s ever heard from him.
“Oh?” The Novelist lets out between guffaws, leaning closer to him with a twinkle in his eye. “And you know me so well?”
“In fact,” He teases, cocking his head to the side, grin never lessening, “I think I do.”
“Well, I’m all ears then, Mr. Prospector. Please do tell me all that you’ve seemed to notice about me.” He teases, and lets out another giggle.

Summary
Norton has taken to touching him recently.
Now, if the touches were as simple as a hand on a shoulder, or a friendly bump of the hip after a match, Orpheus wouldn’t bother bringing it up.
After all, Norton is slightly touchy with everyone. He’s seen how he is around his main friend group consisting of The Mercenary, The Embalmer, and The Seer.
He’s always hanging off of at least one of them.
But, for some reason, the severity of Norton’s touchiness seems to drastically increase when it comes to Orpheus and Orpheus alone.
