    Summary

    “You did number eight wrong.”

“No, I did not,” Kei replies automatically before he can help it; at least he can help the displeased noise from escaping.

“Newton’s third law of motion says otherwise.”

“So does Rimbaud’s influence on Nakahara’s poetry.”

Kageyama pauses, flips through the nearest book on his right, then clicks his tongue. Kei feels glee spark. It’s short-lived, though, seeing that—“Either way, number eight is still wrong.”

Kei narrows his eyes, yet, better be safe than sorry, reviews number eight anyway; and, to his chagrin, he did indeed not take into account the opposite-oriented force of the gravitational pull. It’s an outstanding display of patience on his part that he merely erases his answer and doesn’t throw the rubber at Kageyama, even if it’s fuelled by sheer stubbornness.

—or, two geniuses bond over math, (astro)physics, as well as the scientific aspect of volleyball, and reach for the stars together.
