Soulmates.
What a crock of shit.
Somewhere, some asshole was going to claim to be some sort of destiny for her. How a total stranger was supposed to be a magical missing piece of Amanda, and she was supposed to be their magical missing piece in return, was a complete fucking mystery. She was whole and complete all on her own, and barely able to legally drink, and all of a sudden that meant she was supposed to find her ‘one true love’ via the most ridiculous messaging system ever invented?

Summary
Darius Deamonne was at the height of his career--a high-powered creative director for a top-tier fashion conglomerate. He had the penthouse, the tailored suits, and a reputation for being untouchable. That changed the night he found a five-year-old boy huddled behind a dumpster in a rain-slicked alley near his office.
The boy, Hunter, was wearing a shirt three sizes too big and had a jagged, angry scar across his cheek that looked like it had been "treated" with nothing but a dirty bandage and time.
Darius didn't think; he just acted. He traded his $3,000 silk trench coat to wrap the shivering child. After a week of visiting the hospital every night and realizing the state's foster system was overwhelmed, Darius made a decision that shocked the corporate world. He quit. He filed for emergency kinship/adoption papers, sold the penthouse, and bought a house with a yard in a quiet town called Gravesfield.
The transition to "Dad" was a disaster at first. Darius didn't know how to cook anything that wasn't a five-course meal, and Hunter was a ball of nervous energy who apologized for "taking up space."
