Summary
Wormwood had always been something of an oddity to the other survivors.
His arrival to their world was sudden, unexplained, and, unbeknownst to all parties, linked to something far beyond any of their comprehension. However, as the secrets surrounding the plant began to unravel, so did other, more important secrets of much larger scale and grandeur. These answers are not linked together by the survivors right away, but Wormwood is quick to understand the truth, and what it must mean for his origin; and needless to say, none of it is good.
It can’t be long before his friends come to learn what he’s already pieced together, and Wormwood vows to make every moment before that fateful day count. After all, once the survivors uncover the truth, neither the plant nor his true creator on high can predict what they’ll do.
OR
AU where Wormwood is both semi aware of his origin from the Alter, and the fact that he’s probably going to be made into ratatouille by dawn if this connection is ever discovered by the other survivors.
Note, I'm fully aware Wormwood does not have and will never have any connection to the lore of Don't Starve, this is just a fic and an AU I made for fun and for exploration.

Summary
The amulet split apart, and a figure was left crouching on the grass, shaking.
Except something was *certainly* wrong.
Firstly: WX’s body was laid on the workbench, still as broken as before.
Second: the person who had just been revived was decidedly *not* WX-78.
Or,
WX-78 gets taken down in a devastating hound attack. The team quickly decides to use a life-giving amulet, but when their metal body stays limp on the ground and a new face rises attached to the amulet, questions and concerns arise. Not before the mysterious figure can run away in a panic, however…

Summary
To his credit, Wormwood had managed to go a rather long time ignoring it.
The pull in the back of his mind, the feminine cackle of the night, the whispers of the bright moon; it had all been so easy to set aside, then. To lock away in a far off, unfeasible future, to be dealt with some other time by other hands. He had his work, his farms, his friends -- he needed nothing else.
It had caught up to him, though. As was inevitable. Now he needed to figure out what exactly to do with himself, and quick; for it seemed the moon was intent to continue it's taking.
(Wormwood is determined to protect his friends from a familiar enemy on high, no matter the cost; but he doesn't fully know how, and it seems everything in this world is intent on stopping him, no matter what he tries.)
