The Great and Terrible Papyrus, Captain of the Royal Guard, and Master Chef Connoisseur was not a man who found himself mingling with monster rabble very often. If he needed to squish a crime ring of lowly monsters to do his job, then he would with no hesitation. Or, if he needed to prove himself to other strong monsters, then a spear in the chest is much preferred over useless conversation. And yet he, the influential political figure that he was, was walking into one of New Home’s greasiest bars on a Friday night.

Summary
Papyrus, a skeleton monster who is a new college freshman at Ebott City University, is trying to navigate life as his father makes him feel confined to follow his footsteps as the next influential scientist for the sake of monster society and it’s legacy. However, when he takes his 101 Psychology class, Papyrus starts to reflect his life as he grows an attraction toward his lazy professor, Sans, who shares more in common with Papyrus than he believes. Now, Papyrus will have to choose whether to rebel against his father in order to follow his dreams of cooking and being with the one he loves, or he be stuck living in his father’s shadow forever.
