The world ended a while ago when Earthbread was engulfed in darkness, but it only really ended for fire spirit when he locked eyes with Night Raven instead of Wind Archer, along with an arrow struck through his ribs.
And like that, died Fire Spirit, leaving behind Lord of Ash to deal with the remains of his life and the love that never died, The one and only thing the arrow spared.
Even if who he loves should've bore the colours of green, not purple.

Fire Spirit laughs against the tree he’s been pinned against, an arrow pointed in between his eyes. The wood sizzles under his touch. He stares down an emotionless blindfold, scrunching under the expression of its wearer.
“…Fallen spirit.” Wings of midnight flap midair, and Wind Archer scowls. Despite the hollow words and purple rebrand, that voice is irrefutably Wind Archer’s, breathy and intentional. Being on the receiving end of the archer’s contempt raises a special sort of sickness in Fire Spirit’s gut. “Why are you here? Who sent you?”

Yoo Joonghyuk also sees a semblance of that during nights. when there's nothing left to do but sit beside Kim Dokja's bed, watching him re-read his favorite web novel. Kim Dokja would move about, babbling to himself and even updating his story map if he can. Yoo Joonghyuk watches him till he falls asleep. The light from his mobile phone illuminates his sleeping face — finally looking so peaceful and unguarded, when all he does in the morning is mask it with indifference like it can shield him from all the unfortunate situations that keep on coming.
Sometimes, Yoo Joonghyuk can't help but wish that these moments last longer. Even if it meant Kim Dokja had to sleep more. Just to see him shed all of his worries and inhibitions for once.
But he instantly sobers up and realizes, maybe Yoo Joonghyuk just wants Kim Dokja to die already.
