Summary
Over the first few days, they settle into a rhythm of domestic bliss that’s startlingly easy for Carlos to fall into. They wake up, drink protein shakes or eat fruit, and then head to the practice facility. There’s some training for each of them, with their respective teams seemingly slipping into this rhythm just as easily as they are. It starts the first day, when Vagno makes a casual comment to Juanki while watching Carlos on the bike. By the fifth day, you would think they are all one team, the way they’re laughing, joking, messing around. It feels like one big team, one big family. Carlos wants to drown in it, never wants to leave.

Summary
Tears pricked his eyes as he realized just how foolish he was. The face on the screens, the one he didn’t recognize, burned at the back of his mind. Who would give a shit about that scrap-metal boy from District Six? He was not the District One golden boy, Roger Federer, born with a face worth more than a diamond mine and showered with so many sponsor gifts during his Games that the Gamemakers had to impose a daily limit. He was not Novak Djokovic, forged, sharpened, and steeled in the training academies of District Two, the crown fitted for his head before the canon of his first kill. He was not even in the league of last year’s victor, Iga Świątek, who disguised her genius with nervous, flittering smiles, as dangerous and unassuming as a live wire.
Who was he compared to Carlos Alcaraz, wunderkind? Nobody. He, Jannik Sinner, was going to die.

Summary
Out on the deck, the sun is so bright Carlos has to shield his eyes from the blinding reflections dancing on the deep blue of the lake.
"So beautiful," Jannik says. He has come to stand right behind him to look over his shoulder, but Carlos doesn't need to look to know his exact position, the exact scrunch of Jannik's face in studious awe as he contemplates the lake.
A part of him always knows exactly where Jannik is, a part of him always tries to figure out exactly what he's thinking. Years of playing Jannik have left their mark, and now Carlos couldn't erase the knowledge even if he tried.
He ignores the warmth pooling in his belly.
After Wimbledon, both Carlos and Jannik only want to go somewhere no one knows them, where they can have a real holiday. When Juanki offers Carlos his holiday home, he invites Jannik along for some time away from the spotlight.
Away from prying eyes, will they become closer than ever? And what will happen when the world of social media notices their absence?
