In the wake of the seizure of the 100th vision and the subsequent battle between the Traveler and the Shogun, the Shogunate makes a public announcement; the Traveler has been killed. Whoever this young man was, the artist had loved him. And it had likely been unrequited. Albedo felt an acute stab of sympathy for the painter. The loneliness and desire that poured out of these images was almost too much to bear. Looking at the portrait hurt, and yet Albedo couldn’t tear his eyes away. It forced you to gaze upon it, to long for the subject to finally turn around and look back at you.
