“Why would I care?” The words slip out of the black hedgehog’s mouth and they strike Sonic’s ears as nails on a chalk board. No one here would remember him would they? Not even Shadow, not Tails, not Knuckles, not Rogue, hell even Amy was completely different. What had he done? What happened to his friends, his family? The last thing he remembered of his long time partner was their short fight about his sudden power burst, to Sonic it hadn’t been a big deal, but maybe if had thought for more than a second he would’ve stopped himself for once. He wasn’t sure how much more he could take of these familiar faces looking at him with such suspicion and hatred.

Au where Prime is all the same, but Shadow got spilt like the rest of them and Sonic crashes out WAY harder. Hard to explain, but trust I’m cooking here.

“You ready to go?” He hears Zed calling for him from the first floor of their condo. Kayn gulps the two sets of pills down at once like he usually did, even if the guy accompanying him in his head found it gross.
”Almost! Coming down now!” He answers and chugs the glass of water, placing it back down by the sink. Kayn didn’t like to admit it, but he actually enjoyed the idea of starting over at this new school. Zed had been transferred over the summer and they had just moved into this new place, all the change had shaken him up during his treatment but Kayn bounced back like he always does.

“Aw man, now I want to go skating again,” MK whined, turning back to his bowl when the skater slipped down a side street. “It’s been such a long time.”
“Y’know, I’ve never actually been roller skating before,” Wukong chimed in casually, entirely unprepared for his successor to whirl around to stare him down, looking aghast at the mere idea.
“What!? But you’re like… so old.”
