   Summary

   Fear was supposed to be predictable for Encrid, just another echo in the endless cycle he’s learned to survive. But when death stops being distant and starts striking at the people he can’t bear to lose, the loop becomes a cage tightening around his ribs. Every reset brings him closer to the truth, closer to danger, and closer to the feelings he's starting to notice and embrace.

   Or: the ferryman makes it so that the loop begins only when someone from his squad dies.
