“Right!” Angel squeaks, clearing his throat. Husk can feel himself blushing too and hopes his fur is thick enough to hide the worst of it. Fuck. “Ya remember the agreement, Whiskers. I take a chess piece o’ yours – I get to ask a question. Ya take a piece o’ mine, you get to ask.”
Whiskers. Uh huh. ‘Whiskers’ remembers all too well – and the dread settling into his stomach is curdling with the indignation at the pet name. But there’s something else, too. Something undeniably curious.
