    This is set mostly in between events of Warcraft III, exploring the interim when Illidan Stormrage has first escaped to Outland and is captured by Maiev Shadowsong (before he's rescued by Kael'thas and Lady Vashj, and before his final fight with Arthas).

    Maiev holds Illidan in a temporary prison while she constructs a transport cage to bring her prize back to Azeroth. But even with Illidan safely bound in iron and magic, Maiev's old foe has somehow found a way to torment her mind--or so she thinks. This is a fic about toxic obsession, the fine line between love and hate, and two kind-of-terrible people who are dealing with mutual trauma and sexual frustration. There will be suffering. :P

    Two thousand years after the Fourth War, Azeroth has changed beyond recognition. The once medieval world entered into a new era, changing society once and for all. But not everyone can adjust to the new order: Maiev Shadowsong, once a renowned hero of the Kaldorei and infamous Warden of the Betrayer faces trouble finding her place in modern society. Despite living through the centuries, she's desperately clinging to the past.

    However, she's not alone: Illidan Stormrage finds himself in a world that he barely recognizes after his sudden and unexpected return.

    These two lost souls, belonging to another time are brought together by their shared history and the need to find a new reason to live for. Their interdependence may be the key to ending their long-standing hatred, giving them a chance to start over.

    Maiev is in hard mode denial. This story, like so many of mine, started as craving for more smut. The descriptions of Maiev’s psychology might be triggering to some, and they are probably not accurate concerning any real condition of repressed memories or amnesia. She’s somewhat obsessed in canon hence this approach. I love her to bits and want them to bang, so that's where we are going: towards a happier end ;)

    The dub-con tag is for past events in their 10k years in the Barrow Deeps prison.
